I'll start. I'm currently working on "Charming," a young adult romantic fantasy (lots of labels.) Quick Summary: It's a Cinderella story for those of us who have grown up. Forget pretty faeries in tutus. I'm on a deadline to finish the rewrite before I start school, and I'm hoping to finish the whole shebang by Christmas.

I'm working on a fantasy called Obwanthia.
Quick summay: It's about a girl who is swept off to another world and her advetures there.

"Obwanthia" sounds almost Native American (Hiawatha comes to mind). What kind of fantasy world are you working in? Medieval French-English type, fairybook fantasy, epic fantasy (usually with strange creatures and sorcerers), etc.? "Charming," my book, is working in a Hispanic-style world.

That's really cool. Fantasy has really taken off in the past ten years, thanks to Harry Potter and Eragon, so now everyone's reading LOTR and "Chronicles" and the classics too! Good genre, good genre.

Speaking of fantasy worlds, someone really should write a fantasy with Native American hints. That would be awesome, and quite original.

Obwanthia is more a medieval fantasy.
It has elves and creatures I'm making up.
This book is my first atempt at writing. So it's not the best. But I have friends that help alot.

Have you ever read the Dragon in our Midst series?

Bravo on creation of fantasy creatures! It's a lot harder than it seems, though Napoleon Dynamite did well with his "lyger." LOL.

I haven't read "Dragons in Our Midst," is the series good? I have read Cornelia Funke's "Dragon Rider," and I have a sibling reading the "Fire Within" books (the ones with the dragon's eyes on the covers.) Another awesome, awesome series about dragons and fairy tale creatures (and hilarious one at that) is Patricia C. Wrede's "Calling on Dragons," "Talking to Dragons," etc.

Dragons in our Midst is one of the best series in the world!
In a raiting of 1-10 I would say a 9.
You can buy them at http://www.christianbookdistributers.com
It's christian so if you don't read religios stuff that's a downer.
But I love them!

That's neat, I'll have to look it up. I feel like I've heard the name, maybe from a friend.

As far as religious fiction goes, I'm a bit of a funny person. I'm a Christian but I don't like reading Christian fiction generally. Sometimes I feel that publishers put out cheap, badly written fiction with a somewhat spiritual theme and then sell them off as "Christian fiction." It hardly does God and the Bible any justice.

I do, however, love the Mitford series and many of my friends love Christian fiction like "The Interpreter" etc.

Oh It's very well writen but I ment if you don't want to read about them praying for help or any thing like that.
I like it 'cause they don't swear and all that garbage.
But you really get feel like the characters are real people!
